Equipment

  • 1 Baking dish 9x13 inch for baking
  • 1 Mixing bowls For preparing the peach filling and topping
  • 1 Whisk For mixing dry ingredients for the topping
  • 1 Spatula For spreading the topping evenly over the peaches
  • 1 Knife For slicing peaches

Ingredients

  • 6 cups of fresh peaches
  • 1 cup of granulated sugar for the peach filling
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice to enhance the flavor of the peaches
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon optional for a warm, spicy touch
  • 1 cup of all-purpose flour for the biscuit topping
  • 1/2 cup of sugar for the topping
  • 2 teaspoons of baking powder for the rise
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt to balance out the sweetness
  • 1/2 cup of melted butter
  • 1/2 cup of milk
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract for extra flavor

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Peach Filling

  • Start by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a large bowl, combine your sliced peaches, 1 cup of sugar, lemon juice, and cinnamon (if using). Toss everything together until the peaches are well-coated and pour the mixture into your greased 9x13-inch baking dish.

Step 2: Make the Biscuit Topping

  • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add in the melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract. Mix until the batter is thick and smooth. This will create the biscuit topping that will bake into a lovely, golden crust.

Step 3: Assemble the Cobbler

  • Spoon the biscuit batter over the peach filling, spreading it out with your spatula. Don’t worry if it doesn’t fully cover the peaches – as it bakes, it will spread and form a perfect, crumbly topping.

Step 4: Bake to Perfection

  • Place the dish in your preheated oven and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the topping turns golden brown and the peach filling bubbles around the edges. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Step 5: Serve and Savor

  • Serve your warm peach cobbler with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream. The cool creaminess complements the warm, juicy cobbler, making each bite a delight.

Notes

For a twist, try adding a pinch of nutmeg to the peach filling or drizzle caramel sauce on top for extra richness.
